Animal Kingdom 28 – Jackal: Roguishness

Sri Chinmoy wrote a fascinating little compendium on the spiritual meaning of animals which was published by Agni Press in 1973. Today’s poem features the Jackal.

Jackal: Roguishness

Jackal, my jackal,
Stop your roguishness-life.
Lo, truth-life is at your door
To carry you to the golden shore.
Your preparation-day and
God’s fulfilled Compassion-ray
Are one, inseparable,
Far beyond the domain of clay.
