Spiritual meaning of colours – Part 21: INCONSCIENCE

Colours are essential for our life. As an artist himself Sri Chinmoy loved colours but he also had a feeling for which qualities come from particular colours. In 1974 the first edition of his book “Colour Kingdom” was published, presenting 52 different shades of colours together with the quality and one poem about the subject. In the next couple of weeks we will present you this series and today we continue with INCONSCIENCE. Feel free to make the color larger (by clicking on it). A video summary of all  52 colours and their meaning (Length: 44:49 min) can be found here: vimeo.com.

“The transformation of inconscience is the transcendence of man’s finite existence.”

Animal Kingdom 45 – Black Snake: Inconscience

Sri Chinmoy wrote a fascinating little compendium on the spiritual meaning of animals which was published by Agni Press in 1973. Today’s poem features the black snake.

Black Snake: Inconscience

Snake, my black snake,
How dare you blight
Again my aspiration-life
With your inconscience-night?
Are you a brute?
Are you an idiot?
Oh, I see; you are both.
